Since I’ve come to Spain, I’ve become something of a chef. So I thought I’d share a few of my recipes and ideas with you. I still don’t necessarily like cooking but I don’t hate it as I once did. I think that is due to a couple of factors.
First, I love going to the fresh markets here and buying the things I will prepare that day. The sight of so much appealing produce just makes my culinary imagination soar. There are so many things I haven’t tried. And the butchers, bakers, green grocers, etc. will prepare thing to your specifications. Besides, I don’t need to remember to take something out to thaw in the morning so that I can cook at night.
Secondly, I’ve discovered that my kids will eat absolutely anything. This really allows my imagination to run away. I can experiment with all sorts of flavors or combinations and be assured that, even if I’m forced to settle for a sandwich instead of whatever concoction I’ve created, the boys will not go hungry nor will there be food wasted.
